The graph shows the population of three countries in 1950 and 2000 (in millions) and their projected population figures for 2050.The table shows the life expectancy figures for the years1950and2000 and the projected figures for 2050 for the same three countries. Write a report outlining the main features of the data presented and making comparisons where relevant. You should write at least 150 words.
1) 如果两个图表都是有时间变化的图,就按有时间变化图表的写法进行描述;
2) 若两个图都是无时间变化的图表,就按无时间变化图表的写法进行描述;
Model Answer:
The data shows the populations and life expectancy figures for China, the USA and Spain in1950 and 2000 and the estimates for 2050.
China and the USA have increasing populations and this is expected to continue. China's population grewfrom700 millionin1950 to 1.2 billion in 2000. The population is expected to reach1.5 billionin2050.The population of the USA grew from 200 million in 1950 to 300 million in2000 and itis forecast to reach 400 million in 2050. Spain's population increased from 30 millionin1950 to 40 million in 2000, but is expected to drop to 35 million by 2050.
Life expectancy in all three countries rose between 1950 and 2000. In both years, the USA had the longest life expectancy (73 and 75). China's was the lowest in both years (65 and 68). That of Spain was between them (70 and 72). By 2050, Spanish and Chinese people are projected to live 5 years longer than in 2000, giving Spain the longest life expectancy (77). The figure for the USA is forecast to drop to 74.
To conclude, China and the USA are forecast to have larger populations, and life expectancy in China and Spain are forecast to rise significantly.
